Chapter 64. New Clues

Cristine's POV

"Hello, Lea. I need your help," I said over the phone while I was driving all the way to the headquarters.

"What is it? Why can't you just come here and we'll talk about it?" She chuckled.

I released a sigh. "Mama's birthday was coming. I really wanted to surprise her."

"Well, what kind of surprise do you want?" she asked.

I rolled my eyes even though she couldn't see me.

"That's why I'm asking for your help, right? Give some suggestions," I said.

"How about a garden party? Your mother doesn't like grandiose parties that much. I'm sure she will like that kind of surprise."

I nodded as I listened to what she said. Maybe that will do. I want it to be perfect because it only happens once a year.

She continued to speak, but while listening to her, my eyes caught on the side mirror the two black vans behind me. I just noticed that they have been following me ever since I left the house.
