Carla's POV 

"Carter," I said into the phone, my voice shaking with emotion. "Something terrible has happened. Julie... she... she hurt me. I don't know what to do."

"Carla, are you safe? Where are you right now?" On the other end of the line, Carter's voice is filled with concern. 

"I'm at home," I reply, trying to steady my breathing. "But I don't feel safe anymore. I need help, Carter. I need someone to talk to, someone who can help me navigate through this nightmare."

"I'm coming over right away," Carter assures me, his voice filled with determination. "Just hang in there, Carla. I won't let you face this alone."

The phone call ends, and I'm left in the silence of the apartment, surrounded by the wreckage of my shattered trust. Emotions swirl within me—fear, anger, sadness. But amid the turmoil, there's a glimmer of hope, knowing that Carter is on his way.
