Chapter 19
Sean stroked the edges of the picture in his hand. It was a snapshot of his parents. In this place where he couldn’t call to talk to them, he wondered if he’d made the wrong decision.
He’d told them he was leaving for a trip and wasn’t sure when he’d be back, but he would try to reach them when he could; he knew that wasn’t going to be possible.
As he sat in this room with its shining walls of glass, he found himself stunned that such a place existed. He heard soft laughter coming from the next door and smiled.
That was good. India was stressed out. Aleks was not who he’d have recommended for the job, but he did just fine. The two were good for each other. He pulled out his duffle bag and slid the photo gently into it. Closing it shut, he stood.
“I can feel you watching me,” he sighed, and the glass seemed to glow before she appeared. Hilda, the last priestess that was apparently trapped in a glass prison, stared at him curiously, head tilte
