The drive to the event was quiet, except my head wasn’t. There were 101 reasons why I should have taken Eliana with me and a million reasons why I should have made sure she understood I had nothing going on with Stacey before leaving.
I couldn’t turn around now and go back to fix that mistake. I can do that later, after the event. That would be okay, right.
I shook my head realizing that at my age, I really didn’t know much about women. I mean, I know how their bodies work, how to please them but I didn’t exactly understand how their minds work. Damn! How do I please a woman—not sexually. What sort of words would she like to hear?
