Chapter 29. The New Home

Milan’s POV

The journey wasn’t as long as I had expected, but while inside the car with Alpha Jake, I didn’t say anything and just looked out through the window.

Ava, my lovely 11 year old, was sitting quietly as well, but pressing her phone. The drive to our new home was quiet and I guess we were all nervous and didn’t know what to say to each other until Alpha Jake decided to break the weird silence between us.

“So Ava,” he said, his voice gentle. “What are you looking forward to most about our new home?”

Ava looked up from her phone, a thoughtful expression on her face. “Well, I’m excited to have my room,” she said. “It’s going to be fun to decorate it and make it my own space.”

“That’s a great idea,” he said, smiling. “What kind of style are you thinking of? Like, modern or retro or something else?”
