Chapter 28. Taking Them Home

Jake’s POV

I woke up early as my heart was beating in my chest. Milan and Ava were coming over to my pack and I was excited to spend time with my daughter who I never knew I had.

I kept checking the time after I woke up.

Time seemed to pass slowly as I waited for it so that I could go and pick up Milan and Ava.

Finally, when it was time, I quickly got up from my bed and then rushed into the bathroom.

I took a quick shower and changed into a clean pair of clothes. I was nervous and excited all at the same time. I wondered how Ava would react to seeing her after that day.

I had been practicing what I would say to her, but now that the moment was here, I found myself at a loss for words.

I took a deep breath and tried to relax. I had to be calm and composed if I wanted to make a good impression on Ava. I looked at myself in the mirror and tried to put on a smile, but it felt forced.
