Chapter 69. Shadows of Deceit
Third Person’s POV
“Good! I guess we are now partners in this and will make sure that everything goes according to plan.”
The figure’s words sent a chill down Talia’s spine. She didn’t want to be partners with him, but she knew she didn’t have a choice. She had to play along for now, and hope that she could find a way out of this later.
“I need to go now,” she said, backing away from the figure. “I’ll talk to you later.”
The figure nodded, his eyes following her as she walked towards the door. Talia felt like he was watching her every move, and it made her skin crawl. She hurried out of the room and into the hall, breathing a sigh of relief as the door closed behind her. She felt sick to her stomach, knowing that she had just agreed to help the figure with his plan. But she knew that she had to find a way to get out of this, and she knew that she had to act fast.
