Chapter 30. Your Lies Are Exposed

Axel sat on the edge of the bed, holding Blair's hand and checking her pulse. The man glared at Blair.

"Are you?"

"What the hell!" thought Blair. "He must know my secret." Blair closed her eyes and hid her face from Axel.

"Are you kidding me?" Axel inquired. "You want to play with me? So this is what you have been hiding from me all this time?" Axel's voice rose.

Blair was terrified and still had her eyes closed. Slowly she peeked while saying sorry very softly, barely audible to Axel.

"Forgive me."

"Sorry? Is that all you can do?"

"Then what else can I do? I shouldn't even apologize. Because there's nothing wrong with what I've been doing to myself. I'm just trying to survive."
