Chapter 36. Magnanimous Roma
CYRUS
A few hours pass and the Annunaki have fully escaped from the gates. The heat reduces as the flames continue to burn out. Azeez and I, with about thirty warriors who are the lone survivors of the battle stand in a corner, all of them standing behind me except Azeez, who for some reason keeps smiling.
We keep staring at the scene as the large Iridian calvary stands in battle array, all clad in black and holding lamps and flame torches. In their front, three warriors remain on horseback, wearing masked helmets with distinct fluffy hairs at their tips.
“Go help the wounded!” A shout resounds, and a handful of soldiers spread on the battlefield in search of our fallen brothers.
One of the commanders alights his horse, slowly removing his helmet while passing a scrutinizing gaze at the battlefield full of countless bodies, burning objects, shields, and spears piercing the ground. Then his gaze meets us…
“A handful of soldiers did this to the Annunaki?”
