Chapter 13. Reconciliation

Linda's POV

I blinked rapidly for a few seconds as I tried to wrap my head around what my husband had just explained. 

It sounded like he was telling the truth but I was still a bit tentative about believing him. 

Because what if he was only using this strategy to get me to feel sorry for him and forgive him? But you see here, the thing is that Chris is not that kind of person. He never was. 

So, let me try to entertain it. “So…you’re trying to tell me that you did not sleep with Meghan?” I asked him. 

He pursed his lips and then replied, “Please close the door so we can talk properly.”

I unfolded my arms on my chest and did what he had asked. “I swear, Chris, if I find out that you’re lying to me, I’m never going to forgive you.” 

“I am not lying to you. I found out about your plan to go to Iowa weeks ago, but I decided to stay quiet.”
