My heart didn't stop palpitating, even as I left the meeting room. I could feel the beads of sweat that had formed on my forehead. 

"Luna," Brandon hurried over, as soon as I walked out.

"Where's Kaden?" I asked, my voice shaky. I had seen the look on his face earlier on. That had prompted me to ask for a break. Surprisingly, they had agreed. The meeting would be held tomorrow.

"In the room.." he began saying, but I interrupted him.

"Lead the way, please." I said, but on second thought, I turned back. "Don't worry, I know my way around. Barely." I forced a smile, and walked off.

On the way, I tried my best to ignore the furtive glances thrown at me, by some Alphas. Some had sneering looks on their faces, others looked... disappointed.

I took a deep breath, as I doubled my pace. Immersed in my thoughts, I didn't hear the footsteps, until I was pulled into a dark corner, by a force.
