As I leaned on the headboard, my heart felt like it had been stabbed by millions of knives. Recalling how I had felt like a clown in their presence, made my head feel heavy.
The door pushed open at that moment, and a sullen looking Kaden walked in. Sighing, he shut the door close and approached me.
"I'd like to be left alone." I said softly, not meeting his gaze.
He was silent, then he took his place beside me. "You shouldn't upset our child." He said calmly.
"Then leave. The sight of you makes me angry." I spat, ignoring the hurt look on his face. I hadn't meant it of course, but I wanted to say words that'd hurt him as much as possible.
Yet, seeing him in pain, made my heart clench.
"Amber," he whispered, drawing close.
"I'm sure you wouldn't want things to get tough, would you? Then, leave without coming close to me." I met his gaze, not blinking at all.
