I stifled a groan, as I sat up. The room was dimly lit, and quiet.

"Alpha," a low voice that I could recognize anywhere uttered. I whirled sharply towards the direction of his voice.

"Where's Amber?" My voice was hoarse, and almost raspy.

"We couldn't find her," he muttered softly, his head lowering downwards. "I failed as your Beta." His words made my heart clench.

Brandon was my best friend and brother I never had. 

"We all failed. What actually happened at Bambnorth? How long have I been gone for?" I leaned on the headboard, my heart beating fast.

Those weren't what I actually wanted to hear. However, I needed something to divert my mind from the direction it was about to take. I wanted to wreak havoc.

I needed my little kitty. I needed my mate.

Voices. The inner voices filled my head, making me spring up suddenly. 'Amber,' I whispered.
