We were so happy. We screamed and held each other tightly. Our voices showed how happy we were. We were so happy it worked, and the chain was finally broken.

“Calm down, so that no one would hear us,” I said, realizing we were too loud.

“Let’s escape now that we have broken the chain,” Delilah suggested, her eagerness evident in her voice.

“No, Alaric is still here and this place is heavily guarded,” I said. “If we want to escape, we have to do it at night when no one will suspect we are trying to escape,” I added.
