I’d rather put my hands in a pot of boiling lava than watch Kane hang around with Daphne again. It took everything in me not to march over, pull them apart, and do something that would make Kane turn the other way every time he saw her.

But I couldn’t. I had to pretend like I was fine, while my wolf was internally tearing my insides apart. I wanted to just walk away, but my legs refused to move, anchored in place by the bond no matter how badly I wanted to leave.
