Chapter 84

Daphne

We could hear the chaos loud and clear from where we stood.

There were noises, screams and gunshots, coming from the school. The spell surrounding the detention had been broken, so it was easy for the sounds to reach us now.

“Attention everyone!” a voice boomed from the speakers stationed at the top of the wall. I hadn’t even noticed the detention had speakers.

“The prisoners have escaped. I repeat, the prisoners have escaped. You are to capture them all and let no one get away. If necessary, use maximum force. You are also to find Daphne and have her recaptured.”

“Bruce,” Zach muttered, clenching his jaw.

So the escape wasn’t going to be as easy as I had thought.

“You need to leave, now!” Nika said, staring at me with wide eyes. “You can’t be captured again. That would ruin everything.”

The more she talked, the more confused I became, and the more curious I was about myself. It turns out I didn’t truly know who I was.
