Chapter 11. Apologize

Raymond’s POV

I strode towards the grand hall, my expression dark and almost gloomy. I had no doubt what the sudden visit was all about, and it irritated me to no end.

Sure enough, the moment I entered the hall and settled on the head seat of the hall, an elder wasted no time in speaking up.

“My lord, you are not getting younger. Rumors are spreading, and the people are whispering. We need you to appoint a Luna as soon as possible.”

Another chimed in, with a voice loud enough to qualify for an opera, “My lord, it’s been years since the passing of our first Luna. The people are waiting patiently, it’s time you appoint another. There’s a need for a woman beside you.”

“My lord,” another spoke up, voice senile due to age and vicissitudes, “Among our pack exists several beautiful young maidens in the pack, each with virtue, wisdom, and beauty befitting your status. We implore you to consider our request.”
