Madison’s POV
I watched his receding figure with complex emotions twirling in my eyes. Bronson had left such a deep mark on my fragile soul, so deep that it couldn’t be mended in just a span of days.
Even though I couldn’t decipher the reason for Raymond’s sudden anger, I could at least see the genuine care and concern for me in his eyes.
If the concern was faked, then I would have to applaud his acting talents.
Above all, I was scared.
Terrified even.
Bronson and every single soul in my previous pack had treated me like a mere livestock. But here, there’s nothing like that, and I couldn’t get used to the friendly glances and respectful address.
It felt as if I was in a dream. And when I woke up, I would be back in that hellhole, where I could do nothing but endure the scornful and judgmental glances sent my way.
