Chapter 19. Crisis

Madison’s POV

“What?” Mendy exclaimed in shock, clasping her mouth with her palm.

“How severe is it?” I asked the guard, trying hard to keep my voice composed.

The Guard shook his head with a bitter look, “It’s serious, he has been unconscious since we brought him in and there is no sign of him waking up anytime soon.”

My heart almost leaped out of my chest in fear, and my face lost blood instantly. Without asking further questions, I raised my dress with both hands and rushed towards the East wing.

“My lady, be careful lest you trip.” Mendy’s voice resonated behind me, but I didn’t stop to acknowledge her.

Raymond was injured, how could I have the time to care about trivial things?

I reached the East wing in a rush, my breath coming in ragged and short gasps as my heart pounded against my chest. I had no words to describe the tumult of emotions within me at that point, I only knew that I needed to see Raymond.
