Chapter 19. The Detective Chasing the Bully
It did not take exceedingly long for Detective Garrison to call Austin. We decided we were willing to meet with him that night to discuss a safety plan.
“They caught the guy,” I said to Austin.
“He probably did not give up on Tabitha,” Austin sighed.
“How lame,” I complained as I finished my tea. We were sitting on the couch together, watching the news. “They did not even have anything about it on the news,” I told Austin with a scowl.
“Maybe they are keeping it out of the media because they do not want to spook her?” Austin offered.
“I hope no one got hurt today,” I sighed.
“I do not think anyone got hurt,” Austin reassured me. We continued watching the news, which was talking about another murder that occurred on the outskirts of Watermill City.
“I am still traumatized by the fact that that could have been us on the news today,” I commented.
