Chapter 110
Serena POV
The next morning, I woke up before the alarm could go off with my nerves already jittery in anticipation of the day. Myles was already out of bed, and I heard the shower running in the bathroom while the smell of coffee drifted from downstairs. He never misses morning coffee.
I sat there for a while and tried to shake off the night, but my mind kept going back to the way he had looked when he told me about Damian, and the picture of Damian in that biker jacket wouldn’t leave me alone.
By the time we left for work, the sun was up but it didn’t make anything feel lighter. At least for me. Myles drove in silence, and I noticed he had that look on his face again, the one that meant he was somewhere far away in his thoughts. I wanted to ask what he was thinking but I didn’t; I just let him be in his comfort zone.
