Murphy POV
My smirk widened with a cruel but confident slash across his face. My fingers itched to draw my own piece, but I loved this game too much, and I loved seeing the conflict in Knox’s tired eyes.
“Then do it,” I dared him tauntingly. “Go on. Pull it and see what happens.”
Knox’s jaw tightened even more, but then, slowly and deliberately, he took his hand off his pistol. That’s what I thought, all talk and no show.
I leaned forward with the table groaning under my weight.
