I had long decided that I wasn’t going to let Myles intimidate me or anything, but the look he gave me right there was enough to make a herd of raging buffalo stop in their tracks and think whether they really wanted to go on with the stampede!

“You disobey my orders!” He hissed. “You left the office even though you knew very well that it wasn’t safe to do so and you… you… What is this?!” His nostrils flared as he gestured at all the bags the men had brought into the house.

“I just made a detour,” I replied, trying to sound as casual as possible. “I realized I needed to go shopping.”
