Serena POV

I was in so much pain by now and really had no time to tell the women that I wasn’t facing any form of physical abuse from Myles. Being women, they just assumed the worst due to the messy room they were cleaning and my disheveled state, plus, my puffy eyes were the evidence they needed.

Marie returned with the first aid kit and carefully set it down on the center table..

“What are you waiting for, Marie? Do something, will you?!” One of the women urged out of urgency.

“But.. but I don’t know a thing about first aid!” Marie protested.

“Really?” One of the women exclaimed. “Is there any of us who actually knows something? Anything to do in this situation?”

“I.. I don’t think she needs first aid more than she needs a doctor now.” Marie pointed at my toe, which was tripling in size already. “She really needs a hospital!”

“For Christ’s sake, help her up, Marie!” One of the women supported me on one side, and Marie on the other.<
