He wasn’t even surprised anymore. He wondered if he made a mistake somewhere and what his next plan would be. He could feel her slipping away far from his reach. It was all because of Davis’s presence.

He remembered the last gift he gave her. It had taken a lot of work and time to set it all.

He was going to send a bunch of tulips because it meant “perfect love,” but he was sure she wouldn’t know the meaning. Even though he had watched her for 4 years, he didn’t know if she liked flowers. He only used roses at first because they were common.

She had not shown interest in any, but he hoped she liked it. Still, he felt just flowers weren’t enough. He needed more. Something that would move her.

His idea of using little furry animals had come when he watched them on the animal channel.

The rodents were starving, trying to look for crops in the winter. They were moving as groups, almost about to fight and kill themselves for food. He had watched
