Chapter 124. The Dumb Cowardly Hero

Issahil's POV

The air was thick with tension. The cottage walls trembled as the mob's shouts grow louder. We were surrounded and they were hitting the house from every side, compelling shrill cries from the babies inside the house. 

It was like all the noises being caused outside had been a wake up call for the babies, reminding them that they could cry... Occasionally, warning gunshots sounds rang out outside. I was grateful that the mob were at least not shooting at us inside the cottage. At least they did have some sense to know that they would hurt the babies inside if they did.

I was rocking Erlind who was equally crying. “Hush…” I tried shushing him as I rocked him but the noise outside persisted so it was no use trying to pacify him.

Turning to the others, I asked. “How did they even know to come here? Surely, the emperor couldn't have known that we would be staying here in this cottage. He only speculated our plans of infiltratin
