Chapter 129. The Turning Point

Issahil's POV

The siege had entered the third day. Guardian wolf Elena, Enzo and Finn were yet to return after leaving to find the emperor's family the previous day.

The once sturdy walls of the cottage, which we had been staying in, were now almost completely reduced to rubbles, save for the back room, where the babies were. The other walls had already caved in completely so the back room was exposed as the only remaining section of the house still standing amidst the rubbles.

We were all outside, with only a few of us guarding the back room and since we no longer had any cover against the relentless onslaught of the human mob, we were all battered and bloodied, our forms lingering between human and wolf as we fought them off still.

We didn't want to hurt the humans. We knew they were acting based on the misinformation spread by the emperor. We had to prove to them that we were not the monsters they thought us to be. So, we just kept dodging
