“Why can't we just get the emperor here and have him confess to the mob outside?” I asked and Caleb who had been standing far across the room turned to pass me an incredulous look.

“That sly man if brought here would just make things worse. He created this mess deliberately, we bring him here, he will just worsen things. He doesn't seem to care for his life.”

“Then we find someone whose life he might care about? Family perhaps?” Alpha Matthias strolled from across the room, joining us. He stopped by my side, giving me a quick peck on my cheek before settling beside me.

“Well, does he even have family? Because if he did, they weren't in the palace with him,” said Caleb.
