Issahil's POV
“I should kill you for leading this mob here and allowing them to act on the emperor's lies despite knowing the truth but I won't kill you.” He struck the sword to the floor and turned to return to us.
However, the relentless guard suddenly lurched up and drew the sword from the floor, plunging it straight across Caleb's back to his chest.
My breath hitched as Caleb fell to the floor, his blood pooling around him and gathering towards us, his eyelids shut firmly and his expression pained.
The mob broke into an uproar. We were in shock too, the other werewolves and I. What the hell just happened?
“Caleb!” I rushed towards Caleb, bending towards him to check the extent of the damage the sword had done to him. Tears pooled my eyes as he struggled to breathe and I pulled him gently into my arms.
“Why did he do that?” Screams of these words ranted the air. “The man had let him live, so how could he do that to him?” <
