Not minding the chains restricting him, the emperor pulled his granddaughter into his embrace and she moved her tiny hands to his back, patting him.

Tears streamed down the emperor's cheeks and I scoffed. So finally, he did feel shame or guilt or both…and only because his granddaughter had learnt of his misdeeds. What a hypocrite!
