Chapter 133. A New Sense of Fulfillment

The sun was slowly sinking below the horizon, casting hues of orange, gold and brick-red on the sky, as well as a warm glow over the clearing in the forests.

The siege had officially come to an end and the human mob had long dispersed, save for the few that stayed back, volunteering to help us move the babies to their respective families. 

Among those that had stayed to help were my friends, Nica, Freya and Carlos, Carlos’ friend Bruce, whom he’d introduced to me. And then, Keisha and her father.

The guardian wolves, save for Caleb, had left, taking the emperor to the prison in their fortress. They had also found all the scientists that took part in the experiments, including the ones that had helped us, and they'd also taken them along, with all the guards they had managed to round up. The corrupt police officers were not left out as well as the owner of the local press who'd received the bribe from the emperor to publish
