Chapter 79. Subtle Attack
Issahil's POV
The carriage suddenly jolted as it hit a particularly rough patch of the road and both Alpha Matthias and Caleb reached out to hold me by the shoulder, each gripping one shoulder, to hold me back from falling.
My gaze moved from Alpha Matthias, and then to Caleb and they both took off their hands almost in sync.
I sighed softly. This was becoming disturbing…
Hudson stifled a chuckle and I glared at him. “It's amusing,” he said in his defence.
I smiled lightly. It was. A bit.
My thoughts once again drifted to the moment I had discovered my son was missing. The horror of finding the nanny’s lifeless body, the empty crib, the overturned bookshelf and chair, the shards from shattered vases, the trail of blood, the note from the government—I let out a sharp shaky breath.
