Chapter 89. The Buried Longing

Issahil's POV

I broke apart from Alpha Matthias when I heard my father gasp, and then I followed his line of sight to see an unmoving Caleb sprawled on the floor.

“Oh my goodness! What happened to him?” I asked, leaning towards him in worry.

“I am not sure,” my father replied.

Alpha Matthias joined me, crouching beside me and reaching out to check Caleb's pulse.

“I think he passed out.” 

Alpha  Matthias’ eyes left Caleb to meet my eyes and his hand reached out to smoothen some strands of my hair backwards. It was an action that made a fluttering feeling settle on my stomach and without realizing it, I grinned at him like a fool.

The sudden clearing of a throat made me break my gaze away from Alpha Matthias. 

“We are not sure what happened to him but we almost lost you.”
