Chapter 97. Obvious Lie
Alpha Elihas's POV
Coughing vigorously as I watched my granddaughter Lillian, walking away from my cell, my entire body shuddered.
Her shoulders were shaking as she walked. She was sobbing and it was making my heart ache even more than it already was.
Poor girl. She must be feeling so scared and helpless.
My mind wandered to over thirteen years ago, to the night my son Duncan had murdered his wife in cold blood and five-year old Lillian had witnessed it.

[Flashback: Over thirteen years ago]
It was the deep of the night. I had not been able to sleep so I was leisurely moving about the house when I heard sounds coming from the living room. I made my way there in hurried steps.
My son Duncan was crouching with his daughter, his hand gripping her jaw as he muttered the words, “She deserves it, Lillian.”
Wait… What? What was he talking about and why were they both awake by this time of the night?
