My father turned to me, reaching out to place one hand on my shoulder. “They need him alive, Issa or they won't be able to carry out their experiments any more and they know that, so, Erlind would be fine.”

“You don't know that, father…” I shook my head strongly. “You didn't see what they were doing to him. Those people are insane! They don't know how much is too much. We lost one of our people in their hands, remember? Whatever we do, we have to act fast. We have wasted enough time, father.”

“She is right Alpha,” Alpha Matthias chipped in.

“How about this…” Caleb started. “It's already past midnight so until noon, I will try to gather the other guardian wolves together and the rest of you will spread out to dig for information and we will all gather back here by noon, sounds good?”

I nodded with a hum. Hums of agreement rang out from the others as well.

My father chipped in. “Alright then, it is settled. When we all
