Chapter 94. The Hate in Her Heart

Lillian's POV

My hand hung in mid-air. From my reflection in the mirror, I caught an unfamiliar glint playing in my eyes and I couldn't help but scoff in disbelief. 

Why did I feel sorry for him? His expression had been cold and for some reason I hadn't been able to provoke him, as hard as I tried. Yet I had seen it in his eyes, sadness. And now I felt sorry for him. Guilty even.

I had used him and he had been nothing but good to me the entire time. Well…a voice reminded me, he had been good to me because of the effect of the dark magic I had used on him. He wouldn't have been good to me otherwise.

Another scoff escaped my lips as I felt a surge of anger wash through me at this realisation. And it wasn't like I hadn't also seen the disgust and hate that had also been playing in his eyes when he had looked at me back when we were finalising the divorce. 

So, he hated me? Yet, the one his heart truly belonged to was, Issahil? Ev
