Chapter 26
I woke up the next morning to the continuous buzzing of my phone, and I angrily grabbed the pillow and pressed it over my head to block out the noise.
But after a moment, I threw the pillow on the floor, sat up, grabbed my phone to cancel my alarm, and my heart sank at the sight of Levi's text, "Don't come to work today."
Immediately, tears began rolling down my face as I choked back my cry, but it wasn't long before I gave in to the heartbreak and let myself feel the pain of it all.
A few minutes into my emotional sobbing, my tears were interrupted by a call, and I raised my head, frustratingly grabbed my phone, and answered the call.
"Hello," I said, striving my best to keep my voice stable, realizing it was his sister on the line, and I wasn't ready to tell her what happened between her brother and me.
"Are you crying, Mel?" Bella's calm, yet concerned voice flowed into my ear.
