Chapter 50

Dominick’s Pov:

I was slowly losing consciousness and struggled to stay awake. I kept touching Brenda to be sure she was still alive. The only thing that kept me aware was the almost silent and unnoticeable heaving of her breathing.

My eyes were already closing when I heard someone approached us. I could not see who it was even though it was day. My vision was blurry.

I felt the person, whoever it was, lift Brenda off my body and heard him struggling to keep her on something. Afterwards, I felt him lift me. My eyes closed and I became unaware of what happened thereafter.

I opened my eyes and looked around. I felt warm and I was on something soft. I stood up, feeling better and stronger. I tried standing on my legs. They were still not very strong but now I could stand on them. I sat down back and looked around properly now.

I was in a room that was sparsely filled. There were just a few utensils and one bag of clothes. The other clothes hanging on a rop
