Chapter 16. Karma with the Perfume Regret

It had been three weeks since Lucas and Wendy slept in the same room. Wendy was too angry to end the cold war between the two of them, while Lucas never contested the things that made Wendy angry and even seemed not to care. This was exacerbated by Lucas’s busy schedule, working with a large company in Canada.

“Mrs. Wendy still doesn’t want to eat, sir. She hasn’t eaten for about a week. If left like this, Mrs. Wendy could fall ill.” Jade’s voice greeted Lucas who was just stepping into the house after returning from work.

“So, you didn’t come home until this afternoon because you were still trying to persuade Wendy to eat? You even made yourself an hour late getting home,” Lucas said to Jade in a surprised and guilty tone. It was already close to 9 p.m., while Jade was supposed to come home at 5 p.m. this afternoon because her husband was sick.

“I was afraid something would happen to Mrs. Wendy in her room if I left her home alone,” she said.

Hearing that, L
