Chapter 18. Marriage Proposal

Aleah thought Samuel would forget her promise to him, but she was wrong. As soon as she arrived at the apartment, Samuel demanded answers from her.

“I’m still tired, Sam. You see, I just arrived after a very long plane ride. My legs are sore, I want to rest.” Aleah tried to avoid her obligation to answer Samuel.

She tried to escape by dragging her suitcase and taking quick steps into her bedroom. However, she had to abandon her plan when Samuel grabbed her wrist.

“But you promised me to give you an answer after you return from Korea, and that’s today.”

“H-How about you give me one more day? I need to rest first, Sam. Please…” Aleah put on a pitiable expression to ask for Samuel’s mercy.

And it made Samuel look very heavy-hearted. “But I’ve waited too long for that answer, Aleah. And I really can’t wait anymore. That’s why I want to hear from you now so that I can quickly make a decision about my future with you.”

Aleah bit her lower lip nervously.
