Chapter 5. An Unexpected Declaration of Love

“We no longer have anything personal to discuss. I will continue to maintain professionalism in my work,” Aleah said coldly, wiping away her tears roughly. “Now, I’ll return to my desk,” she continued.

Without waiting for permission from Xavier, Aleah turned around and walked towards the door to quickly get out of the room. She was about to reach for the door handle when suddenly the door was opened by someone outside and Aleah couldn’t help but have to take a step back first to avoid hitting the door.

“Oh, it turns out there’s you, Aleah? I’m sorry, I thought there was no one at the door so I just pushed it without knocking first,” the baritone voice greeted Aleah a little surprised.
