Chapter 6. True Enemy

[A few days before the wedding]

“Have you been waiting long? I’m sorry, I had a little trouble on the road because I was stuck in traffic,” said Wendy while patting Lucas on the shoulder, who looked lost in thought on one of the chairs in the Japanese restaurant which was quite empty at that time.

Wendy acted too casually towards Aleah’s lover.

Because of the pat, Lucas looked up and smiled kindly at Wendy who was now sitting in front of him.

Without taking Lucas’ openly annoyed expression to heart, Wendy happily put her handbag on the table, then turned to look at Lucas with a serious look.

“So, what did you want to talk about that you asked to meet?” Wendy asked so cheerfully. Casually, she even rested her chin on the table and looked at Lucas closely.

“It’s still about the same thing as I discussed on the phone, it’s still about Aleah… is she starting to change her mind? I’ve done everything you suggested to me, Wendy. According to your instruc
