Chapter 7. Love Alone
“I’m numb, Mr. Samuel. Since the day I saw my future husband marry my best friend, I can’t love anyone anymore. I can’t accept your feelings and… will Mr. Samuel still be this good even though I don’t have feelings? anything against you?” said Aleah.
At that time, Samuel invited her to lunch at a steak restaurant. The man seemed to put a piece of meat into his mouth, chewed it for a moment, and then smiled sweetly at Aleah lightly. It was as if Aleah’s words didn’t even affect him.
“You have to try this. The meat tastes delicious and is very tender,” said Samuel as he held out a fork containing pieces of steak from his plate to Aleah.
Like it or not, Aleah opened her mouth and accepted the bribe. She chewed it half-heartedly, even though she admitted that the steak tasted really good.
“How? Is it delicious?” Samuel asked enthusiastically. Meanwhile, Aleah responded by nodding her head hesitantly.
