Chapter 66
Getting in, Georgina hugs me. Helen is asleep on the sofa, which I am grateful for. I hope she doesn’t know what has happened.
“I am going to check the other cars quickly. I will be back in soon.” Marcus walks out.
I turn to Georgina. I can’t stop myself from crying. Her arms are wrapped around me but, as much as it is nice, it doesn’t help. Nothing will stop the thoughts of what is happening.
“What are you crying for? You’re safe. It was an accident and will be fixed just as quickly.”
I shake my head. How do I tell her without Jackson knowing I know? I can’t, but I have to tell someone other than Marcus. “It wasn’t an accident. Someone drained the brake fluid. Don’t say anything; I shouldn’t even know. He’s getting all our cars checked.” Wait! The girls! Panic surges through me. “What if the girls were in the car? What if we were not lucky and we had crashed with them in the car?” It is past someone hating us now. It is someone wanting to seriously hurt
