Chapter 10. Speaking
Climbing in, Marcus is sitting there. I look at him in confusion. Do I drive, tell him to get out or just wait for him to explain why he is sitting in my car?
“I am coming. We told you that you were not allowed to go out alone, so I am going to come and sit in the car and wait for you to finish.”
Is he being serious? Sure, lives are in danger, but maybe this is going a little too far?
“You do realise these appointments take anything from one to three hours, right?”
He nods, just looking at me, waiting for me to start driving. What is he going to do for that length of time sat in the car? Giving up, I set off driving. Getting there just in time, I press the button and Sally opens the gate so I can drive in. Parking up, I get out. Marcus follows me. Turning, I hold my hand up against his chest.
“What are you doing?” Disbelief is on my face. Does he really expect to come in and sit and listen?
