Chapter 27. His Story
The sound of footsteps coming downstairs makes me turn to see who it is. Marcus is standing at the bottom of the stairs. Looking at me, he shakes his head and walks towards me.
“I know I should be upstairs in bed waiting until the morning and it’s safe to move, but that isn’t going to use much energy, is it?” That’s all I will say on that matter. I can’t be expected to sit on a bed all night and read books.
“I am not shaking my head at that, Alena. What the hell did you think you were doing? We go through so many tests to make sure we are safe on those tablets if we need them. You have no idea, do you, just how easily you could have collapsed taking them two tablets?”
Looking up at him, I am confused. Now he looks angry and is saying how bad it was to have taken them. Before, he was laughing like it was funny and something stupid to do.
“You said it was all safe and not to worry.” Is this him saying it isn’t? Have I really possibly done damage to myself
