Chapter 28. Side Effects
Sitting, I finish eating. Getting the girls out of their chair, I go sit in the living room. Marcus walks back in not long after, sitting on the chair opposite me. Sitting, we stay quiet. Jackson walks down the stairs ready for work. It feels weird him leaving: he hardly ever has to go to work. Walking into the room, he gives the girls a cuddle each. Turning, he walks to me, kissing me on the forehead before saying bye and walking out. Sitting, we watch films. The morning passes quickly, the girls just sitting watching Santa films.
“I am going to go cook dinner.”
Getting up, I walk to the kitchen. I need to cook. Standing in the kitchen, I start cooking. The food is nearly ready and I don’t feel good. Putting some on plates, I hand Marcus his and get the girls in their chairs for theirs. Sitting at the table, I close my eyes, my mind trying to have a break.
“Where is yours?” Opening my eyes, I look up to see Marcus stood looking at me.
