Chapter 58

It was the next day and I groaned as my eyes fluttered open. A weird smell swirled in the air and my body ached from sleeping on the hard and cold floor. I sat up and yawned before looking at Jade. 

He was already awake and sweating because he was doing a bunch of pushups. He had not noticed yet that I was watching him and was focused on his movements. With each movement he made, my heart shook. 

His attractiveness was evident and his muscles were very defined. He was truly a sight to behold. I watched him until he finished his last rep of pushups. That was when he noticed me. 

He chuckled freely. “Lucia, I didn’t know you were awake. I hope that I was not the one that woke you up.” 

“Oh, no. I woke up on my own.” I flashed him a warm smile. “How many reps did you do?” I stood to my feet and started to do some stretches. From across our cell, I could see that my mom was still asleep.
