Chapter 61

I led the way and my mom, and Jade was right behind me. Soon, we were in the dining area and our eyes fell on Sam and his wife. I know that he said that she had leukemia and that it was stage four but it was I was a bit doubtful because she did not look sick in the least. 

She looked pretty healthy to me. Her weight was good. Her skin was vibrant. She looked strong. But again, I did not know much about the illness. 

I sat on the other side of the dining table; Jade and my mom sat next to me. The table was already set and the food looked very tasty. As I stared at the food, my stomach made a loud sound, letting everyone know how hungry I was. 

Jade tried to hold in his laugh but he could not. He ended up laughing for a few seconds before calming himself down. As for my mom, she only smiled. She was not paying much attention to me but to Sam and his wife. 

“Thank you all for joining us for breakfast,” Sam began but before he could say another word,
