“You can find your way home, right?” Clary asked the kid as she stared into his eyes. 

He nodded and then replied in a small and adorable voice. “Yes, I can.” He pointed in the opposite direction of them. “My house is that way.” 

“Okay, dear. But no matter what, don’t ever leave your house without telling your parents, okay?” 

The boy nodded and then waved goodbye before running away. 

Clary watched him skip away until he had disappeared from her sight. Then she noticed that she was touching her belly. I guess she was thinking about the child she was carrying. 

A noise startled her and brought her back to reality. She remembered that her life was at risk and so she began to run. She used every strength she had to run as fast as she could. 

As soon as she reached the main road, someone recognized her.
